Lydia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Trust, having had a long career in education. She was a teacher for 16 years, then a headteacher for 7 years during which time she was selected by the local education authority to support local headteachers. She then joined Birmingham Local Education Authority as a member of the leadership team. In that role she was responsible for reviewing, monitoring standards and supporting headteachers in challenging schools. She also oversaw the recruitment of new headteachers, supporting them in their new roles. During her time in Birmingham she trained as a coach which proved invaluable in supporting heads to find solutions to difficult problems
Since retirement from the teaching profession, Lydia has been vice chair of Two Gates Primary School and more recently a volunteer for Care Dementia Group, a local charitable organisation.
Her strengths are specifically in communicating with a wide range of people. She would also be able to use her experience to support the strategic direction of the Trust.
